There was also barely enough water pressure to have a shower and the kitchen was small enough to be almost unusable. Most of the furnishings seemed to be from the 80s or earlier. Beds were rustic but sleepable.

The chalets are overpriced. They are rustic at best, but are the same price as luxury chalets elsewhere. Included in this price is nothing - you even have to pay extra for the barbecue. If you want to fish, which I suppose is the whole point, you will have to shell out an extra $150 a day for a boat, supplementary licence and even more if you want a guide.

My family and I go there every year between Christmas and New Year and every year our experience was excellent. The campus is huge and there is a ton of activities to do (Skating, Ice Fishing, Snowmobile, Dog Sleigh, Cross-Country Skiing, Indoor Semi-Olympic Pool). The food is also really good.

Great stay, remote, tranquility. Superb views wherever way you look. Huge lake with all sorts of activities including fishing. Rooms are nice, bed was very comfortable. Would recommend.

The beach is on the other side of the lake, ten kms away on what should be marked as a 4x4 dirt track. There is a small beach in front of the auberge, but it is full of goose poo. You'd be better off getting a boat to the other beach, but of course, it'll cost you. If you want to do any kind of activity except walking, you'd better believe that it is not included in the price.

The pool and the location are the reason this place gets one and not zero stars. Both are lovely.
